Pilton Moor Stables also has the capacity and facilities to host large groups for short or long-term breaks, with ample paddocks, turnout and stable space available in addition to on-site lorry & trailer parking. We therefore welcome Riding Clubs, Pony Clubs and any other small or large group for anything from a summer camp to a wild winter break! Our riding routes are ideally suited for larger groups with many long wide grassy canter tracks, old hunting ground and of course our wide expanses of beach. Our local pubs are also happy to cater for larger groups of riders with hitching rails provided for a well-deserved break! We are happy to provide escorted rides for those who want to simply relax and enjoy a guided ride.
Bath Riding Club and Riders 2000 in Cardiff are two British Riding Clubs who have enjoyed a break with us recently. For the riders we can advise on local accommodation, or we have shower, toilet and shelter facilities on site for those wishing to have a more adventurous stay and camp in their lorries/trailers/tents! We held our adults’ riding weekend at Pilton Moor and had a fantastic few days. The horses’ accommodation was far better than ours with a choice of large stables or post and rail paddocks with good grass while we slept in the trailers! We did however have a spacious barn to shelter from the rain and hold our barbecue and a lovely clean shower that was very welcome after a long day in the saddle. It’s ideal for riding clubs or large parties as there was plenty of room on the yard to park our 12 trailers and get our 16 horses ready. It goes without saying that the riding was incredible and the views spectacular, some of the best riding I’ve experienced. Jo and Martin were always incredibly friendly and helpful, going well beyond the call of duty with the kettle on for when we got back from our 5 hour ride and a lift to the local pub for us. Thanks also to Ceri for being such a knowledgeable and informative guide – we would have been literally lost without you!
